We encourage you to read this article summarizing a report released on May 2, 2023 by the U.S. Surgeon General, titled "Our Epidemic of Loneliness and Isolation." Much of what is in the report Partners in Hope has witnessed firsthand for years; our goal has always been to create a culture of connection. "There's really no substitute for in-person interaction," says Dr. Vivek Murthy. You can read his full report on our Find Resources page.
After a tremendous year, Partners in Hope - Texas (PIH) is excited to share our 2022 Empowering Connections Impact Report with you. God connected us with incredible families who we get to walk with in their journeys, volunteers who have a huge heart to serve, donors who believe in this mission, and churches and nonprofits that join us in this Kingdom work.
Because of your support, we have reached even more people dealing with social isolation, while also equipping neighbors to walk with them. The stories you will read in this report are just a small snapshot of how God is empowering communities to fight the negative effects of social isolation.
You will soon hear via our CONNECTIONS e-newsletter and social media about even more exciting program and staff changes at PIH. God continues to grow our trust in Him as we are called to broaden our reach into the community through innovative ministry programs.
Consider taking one of our Relational Ministry Trainings, designed to equip volunteers with tools needed to journey with our neighbors who need connection.

Unexpected Connections is about the epidemic of social isolation, the redemptive power of relationships, and God’s perfect timing. In this book, Author Matt Peacock details how the Lord led him and his missions-focused team on a fascinating journey to address this growing problem in central Texas. But there was a big twist. No one could have predicted the actual destination.
We are excited to announce that Unexpected Connections recently received two awards! It was recognized as a SILVER WINNER in the Nonfiction Book Awards sponsored by the Nonfiction Authors Association. This competition honors books that are “well-written and beautifully produced."
It was also honored with a BRONZE MEDAL in the 2021 Illumination Book Awards. With the motto, “Shining a Light on Exemplary Christian Books,” the Illumination Book Awards are designed to honor the year’s best new titles written and published with a Christian worldview.
